Speakout for Clean Water + Coal Ash Cleanup for Plant Hammond on Aug 10th!

In a bold act of disregard for Georgians' health and environment, Georgia Power is asking the Georgia Environmental Protection Division's (EPD) permission to permanently leave more than a million tons of toxic coal ash in a leaking, unlined pit at Plant Hammond west of Rome, GA -- dangerously close to the Coosa River.

This is just the first coal ash permit of many that Georgia Power will request in upcoming months for permanent storage of their toxic coal ash. The company has six other coal plants where they are planning the same dangerous approach. We need to come together and raise our voices loud and set a powerful tone from the outset by stopping the Plant Hammond permit.
